IF YOU MISS YOUR COURT DATE
If you receive a ticket from a law enforcement agency under the jurisdiction of the 19th JDC, you must take one of these actions:
1) Pay the ticket prior to the court date, or
2) Appear in court to contest the ticket, on the date noted on the ticket, or
3) Contact the 19th JDC traffic office to request a new court date, to contest the ticket at a later date.
If you fail to take any one of these actions, your driver’s license will be suspended the day immediately following your missed court date, pursuant to LA RS 32:57.1
In order to have your license reinstated you will have to do the following:
Attend court to address your ticket, and
Pay the OMV a total of $100 -- $50 for the cost of suspending your license and $50 for it to be reinstated.
AVOID THESE PENALTIES AND INCONVENIENCE, BY TAKING CARE OF YOUR TRAFFIC TICKET!
